It’s human nature to want to be liked and accepted by everyone, but if we’re being completely honest, that task is simply impossible. I’ve dealt with having self-esteem issues ever since I was little, however I’m so blessed that the relationships I’ve created and opportunities I’ve experienced these past few years have definitely helped shape and build my overall confidence. The best way to build self-confidence is to block out all the haters and say adios! 1. Do what you think is right, even if it is mocked by others.
Granted everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but at the end of the day, you govern your own choices and actions. This is your life to live and if you feel good about what you’ve accomplished, the thoughts of others shouldn’t make you feel otherwise. People cannot change who you are or what you’re worth unless you allow them to.
Characteristics of low self-esteem stem from lack of taking risks because of the fear of failure and not wanting to leave comfort zones. Well guess what people, good things do not come from staying in comfort zones. You do more damage when you set limitations for yourself. If you happen to fail…then actually you’ve succeeded because the best lessons learned are when you find the strength to pick yourself up and try, try again.
3. Just say f*ck it
This is probably my mantra of choice. Rock a new look, fuck it. Drop everything you’re doing because you want to see the world, fuck it. Change your career for a path you’re passionate about, … you get the picture. Here’s when you really block out the noise and just look back on all your accomplishments and start believing you can achieve more. I don’t know if I could have made it this far if I didn’t have this tiny mantra engraved in my mind. Be proud of the path you’ve created for yourself and if anyone has anything negative to say about it, well then fuck it.
