The Lincoln Center, where all fashionistas alike come dressed to the tens in their best glam and sparkles gather together in what is called Mercedes Benz Fashion Week, the most luxe of all New York fashion events if I should say so myself. I wasn’t able to capture a lot of photos due to the limited time we had before the show, however I was able to capture a good amount of photos, especially those of some great statement pieces that initially caught my eye.
I love this pencil skirt and it’s perfect pop of color of pink. Stripes are a basic necessity in every one’s closet. I also love how she paired the skirt with a quirky striped shirt making her outfit very Parisian chic.
Here’s the perfect definition of street style in a nut shell. I dig the “toughness” throughout the outfit and her use of over-sized tees and layers. Paired with a great heel, this fit goes from street casual to fab in an instant.
Another street style fave! Here, she’s rocking a chunky over-sized sweater with a sexy maxi that shows just the right amount of leg. Gold chains and spiked boots instantly make this outfit edgy and cool.
Chic in all 3.1 Phillip Lim attire! Orange is the perfect color to rock as it transitions from your summer neons to your fall closet this season. I also love the silver chain necklace to tone down the boldness of the orange, and the minimal black heels she used to finish off the look.
Collars, blazers, structured skirts, structured purses, and stripes! Loving the preppy vibe from these two ladies. Nude shoes are a necessity ladies! They’ll elongate your legs, and honestly, they’ll just go with anything!
Two words: effortlessly chic. Grunge meets finery with her white tee and rugged combat boots, topped with a Chanel clutch to put the outfit all together.
I love texture within clothing, embroidery being one of my favorites, so of course this embroidery jacket had to be one of my favorite pieces. I like the juxtaposition of the Moroccan-esque jacket paired with these light wash distressed jeans. A lot of people tend to steer away from the distressed jean because of it’s ruggedness, but that’s exactly the beauty of it. Take it to the streets with a pair of sneakers for a casual “running some errands” type of look, then pair it with a great heel and/or other statement piece for a girls night out.
OMG, AREN’T THESE NOT AMAZING?! I have a fetish for crazy, bold shoes, especially anything with a great platform. It’s hard not to stand out of the crowd rocking these babies on your feet.
I love me a good black on black outfit. When working with monochromatic colors, remember that texture is key, like this peplum pencil skirt which is absolute perfection! The skirt shows just enough skin without revealing too much as it is made of taffeta, with a leather peplum around the hips. Her outfit then shines with her red clutch giving just enough pop to make it stand out.
Here’s an outfit I like to call Bohemian Elegance. Here she’s rocking a floral taffeta top with unstructured sleeves that gives beautiful contrast to her plaid button-up underneath. The billowy top looks like perfection paired with these distressed straight legs, and a beautiful oil-slick clutch to top it all off.
Black on black, street, street, STREET! I love the pieces on these ladies from the silver necklace, to graphic tee and sheer panel leggings, to the badass skeleton moto jacket. These ladies remind us that it’s OK to keep Fashion Week casual, just keep it street! Heres a link to their blog: http://ekstraordinaere.tumblr.com . Check them out, it won’t disappoint!
This lovely kept her outfit extremely simple and grungy with these black overalls. She also kept it very daring and risque with her sheer tree branch bodysuit right under. And there’s nothing that I love more than a great pair of strapped combat boots to top it all off.
Last but not least, my most favorite outfit of the day. I loved everything from the pants, structured blazers, Hermes belt, wide brimmed hat, and the round lens sunglasses. These outfits were an entire statement as these two kept everything extremely dapper, extremely hip, and extremely casually street.
