I love, love, love incorporating texture within outfits. I think it is the easiest way to bring your plain ole’ look from “plain Jane” to Jane Fonda. Lol, forgive my poor analogies please! For this look, I was deeply inspired by the eccentricity and mod-feel of London Fashion week, however to make this look completely my own, I decided to go down the monochromatic route to have a more simplified color palette. I can’t get enough of stripes. In fact, I believe it’s basic necessity that every single person should have in their closets. (Read more about my love for stripes here). However, this shag cardigan does all the talking. As if the leather and suede boots weren’t enough, this shag coat easily elevates this mod-look one notch further.
Shag, fur’s younger sister as I like to believe, is definitely more tame in a sense that it’s lightweight and can be worn casually or dressed up year round. However, this outfit proves that it remains the star of the show while playing in conjunction with the stripes and incorporating the right amount of texture within a single outfit. I absolutely love how the texture of shag and stripes work harmoniously together emanating a look that is altogether Paris chic and festival/streetstyle ready. If you haven’t already, I challenge everyone to play with shaggy cardigans and/or stripes and let me know what looks they can come up with. Whether you rock it casual, dressed up, boho, nautical, festival style, street style, parisian chic, etc. It doesn’t matter. Let me know in the comments below.
