Happy Monday, people! With Summer quickly approaching, my girl Muna (aka La Petite Conteur) and I thought it would be fun to come out with a 3 part lookbook featuring some of our favorite seasonal trends. First one up: Tie Dye!When Spring and Summer roll around, I tend to stray away from florals as I dislike the prim-cut, girlish qualities it imposes. My daily uniform consists of distressed denim, ratty old band tees, a leather jacket, and a backpack to lug all my stuff around. Let’s just say that “florals” do not fit my preference. Tie-dye on the other hand is completely different. It’s the easiest way to reintroduce color into my wardrobe without having to sacrifice my grungy sense of style. It’s pretty much badass to say the least. I was inspired by the idea of the “edgy hippie,” a girl who would rock boho frocks with a healthy mix of grungy elements. The tie-dye and white platforms give off that 70’s babe vibe, while the choker and black concho hat bring in some 90’s flavor keeping the look totally modern and up to date. As for the dress, it’s currently my favorite closet obsession. I love me a no-fuss and “easy to throw on” shift dress. It’s absolutely perfect for lunch time buffets keeping any food babies at bay. (Fun fact: I am always thinking about food…hah…) Peace & Love Dress Tobi/Sunglasses ZeroUV/Hat Forever 21/Shoes Kendall & Kylie/Backpack Thrifted
Still hesitant about the whole tie-dye trend? I won’t deny that it can be a little bold, but never fear, girls. just grab your FBF (Fashion Best Friend) and rock it together! Besides, the more tie-dye, the better. Can you guys say #SQUAD, or what?!
