With the remaining days of summer slowly dwindling down, I find myself trying to get in some last minute adventures before fall comes. I was so pleased to be reached out to by Warby Parker to highlight some of my favorite summer happenings and share them all with you. ‘Coley’ Glasses c/o Warby Parker
Fun fact: like any Bay Area native, I am totally obsessed with boba tea. An iced cold boba is the perfect pairing for a friendly hangout on those hot summer nights. One of my favorite local hot spots is Tea Papa located in Fremont, CA. If you’re in for a sweet treat, I recommend trying their potted milk teas. What’s funny is that it’s made to look like a potted plant except the “dirt” is actually crushed oreos on top! Other must try desserts include the affogato, which seems like an interactive experience in which you pour black tea over ice cream and cotton candy, and the black sesame ice cream macaron. Yum!

As relaxing as summer is supposed to be, my summer actually consisted of a lot of work. Whether it be school work, job work, blog work, either way, I wasn’t having any of it until I had my morning coffee. Yes I know, I’m a total caffeine junkie. On days when I need a quick pick-me-up, I like to visit my local Starbucks. I visit this place way too often to the point where they see me walk in and without fail, automatically ask me if I’ll be taking the usual. My usual? A tall cafe americano, two pumps of classic, and no room for milk. I like my coffee straight up and to the point, just like this minimalist inspired outfit.

Surprisingly, I only made it to the beach once this entire summer, but I am so glad I did because I was in definite need of some Vitamin D. I usually love visiting the Santa Cruz private beaches, but my boyfriend and I felt we were in need of a change of scenery, and decided to make our way to the Beach Boardwalk instead this past Labor Day. The Boardwalk has this old-school, vintage feel to the amusement park that makes you feel nostalgic of your childhood. During the summer, rides are a $1 on Monday nights, and they show movies on the beach every Wednesday night. The only downside of our trip: the beach was super crowded and the boyfriend and I got caught up in the high tide. Most of our clothes, bags, and food (waaaah!) got soaked from the waves, however I was able to save our phones and my camera. Those were the most important things after all! Otherwise, the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk is the perfect place to bring the whole family, or hang out with a group of friends.
I love companies, such as Warby Parker, that choose to make an impact on the world. When you buy a pair, you give a pair of glasses to someone in need. Not only do they donate to nonprofit organizations, the organizations train individuals in developing countries to give eye exams, helping spread awareness and providing adequate eye care in their communities.
