My absolute favorite thing to wear in the Summer is denim, denim, and more denim. Muna of La Petite Conteur and I decided to do an all denim look for the second installment of our Summer lookbook. Denim is altogether laidback and casual, which to me is the epitome of Summer. It’s a basic wardrobe necessity as it seamlessly ties everything in your closet together. Besides, you guys know my thought towards denim; head-to-toe is all I wear and it’s a look I will never cease to quit. Can you guys say, “outfit repeat on fleek!?” Muna is rocking an all denim jumpsuit inspired by the one and only badgalriri herself! The look is the perfect mix of masculine meets femme. The jumpsuit is both effortless and sporty, and a great statement piece in itself. It’s also made of lightweight chambray material which makes it absolutely perfect for the hot, hot heat. She finishes off the look with a multi-colored statement necklace and a rad pair of cobalt blue heels to add the perfect amount of color and feminine touch. I on the other hand went down the grungy route, but seriously, what’s new?! For this look, I was inspired by the 90’s. First thoughts that came to mind was Calvin Klein, grungy platform boots, tattoo chokers, pig tails (mind you, I haven’t rocked pig tails since elementary school, but I thought it added the perfect touch of girlishness to such tough outfit) and distressed denim in all its ripped up, destroyed glory. I thrifted this denim jacket about 7 years ago, so I thought it was time to show it some love, DIY the crap out of it, and bring it to new life. Lastly, Muna and I would not be a “squad” if we did not finish off both looks without the perfect pair of matching shades! Funny thing is that the matching shades were purely coincidental. I don’t know about you, but I think the sunglasses tie our outfits together almost perfectly if you ask me. See more of the lookbook on Muna’s blog here. See you guys next week for the last installment of our collab. Have a happy Monday!
