Jump rope isn’t just a playground past time, it’s an amazing cardio workout that helps burn more calories faster than running ever will.
Jump rope is probably my most favorite workout of all time. Because I work a full-time job during the day and consider myself as a full-time blogger on top of that, I don’t always have time to hit the gym and get a full on workout. When I have time to squeeze in some exercise, I love to jump rope because not only does it burn calories fast, it’s a full body work out that helps with leg and upper body toning. I also find that the more you progress and the faster you jump, the more agile you become. No wonder why boxers incorporate it into their daily routines. In just 10-15 minutes, you can burn up to 200 calories. How easy is that?!

Here’s my daily routine for those of you who are up to the 10 minute challenge.
Equipment needed:
- Jump rope (duh)
- Great music to keep your heart beating

1 minute of jumping with both feet together
2 minutes of alternate foot jumping (running in place)
10-15 push-ups in between
1 minute of jumping with both feet
2 minutes of alternate foot jumping
30 second plank in between
1 minute of jumping with both feet, right to left, side to side
2 minutes of alternate foot jumping
And to end it off on a fun note, do as many criss-cross jumps (as I like to call them) you can continuously do before stopping. The most I’ve done is 40 in a row!
